Lincoln Street Elementary School

 Band lessons will take place on Tuesdays.  Group lessons will be 30 minutes in length and take place on a rotating schedule.  Full band will rehearse on Friday afternoon from 2:30-3:15 PM.

Ms. Makara is Director of the Lincoln St., Peaslee, Proctor and Zeh Elementary School Bands. She directs the All-Town Band in the spring and coaches chamber ensembles at Melican Middle School.

Ms. Makara graduated from the Benjamin T. Rome School of Music at The Catholic University of America in 1998 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Flute Performance and Instrumental Music Education. She has also completed requirements for a Master of Music Education degree at the Boston Conservatory, graduating summa cum laude. Recently, she completed the Fine Arts Director certification program at Fitchburg State University.

Ms. Makara has studied flute with Leslie Hunt, Eleanor Lawrence, and Elinor Preble. She has performed in national and international masterclasses for Robert Willoughby, Alexa Still, Walfrid Kujala, Bonita Boyd, Jeffrey Zook, Ervin Monroe, Trevor Wye, and Patricia George. Ms. Makara maintains is principal flutist of the Metrowest Symphony Orchestra, performs with the Willow Flute Ensemble, and freelances throughout the area. She also co-chairs the M.I.C.C.A Solo and Ensemble Festival with her husband, Mr. Daquil.
