Lincoln Street Elementary School Family Newsletter | October 4, 2026

On Friday, October 2, 2026, several of our inspiring Lincoln Street School (LSS) students had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the annual Titan Games at Algonquin Regional High School. This Special Olympics–style track and field event brought together athletes from across the Northborough and Southborough school district to celebrate athletic accomplishment, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
To honor our athletes and build excitement before their departure, LSS students, teachers, and staff lined the school hallways, cheering enthusiastically with pom-poms, handmade signs, and spirited banners. The festive send-off reflected our vibrant community spirit and filled our athletes with confidence as they headed to compete.
During the Games, our students competed in events such as the 50-meter dash, long jump, and throwing events, displaying incredible effort, determination, and pride. The photos below capture the unforgettable moments, broad smiles, and triumphant highlights from this storied event.
Best, Mrs. Callaghan

| Curriculum Corner - Literacy Team |
|
|
To ensure the effective delivery of instruction and support for both students and staff, we have structured a collaborative literacy leadership model:
Literacy Coaching & UFLI Implementation: Mrs. Elizabeth Mathews serves as the dedicated Literacy Coach for both Lincoln Street School and Zeh School. In this role, Mrs. Mathews focuses on coaching classroom teachers, modeling instructional strategies, and leading the successful implementation of the UFLI curriculum.
Literacy Intervention Team: We are pleased to welcome Mary Lincoln, a literacy specialist from Zeh School, and Bethany Anilesh, a literacy specialist from Proctor School, to the Lincoln Street School team. Together with our staff, this skilled group works collaboratively to provide targeted, data-driven reading intervention and support directly to our students.
By separating full-time coaching responsibilities from direct intervention, this dynamic literacy group ensures that classroom educators receive consistent instructional support while students requiring additional instruction receive focused intervention. We look forward to a successful year of growth and achievement in reading across all our classrooms!
*Mrs. Mathews will continue to oversee the district literacy testing (DIBELS) for LSS.
