Dear Grade 5 Families,

I wanted to remind you that on Thursday, our fifth graders will receive information on our Growing and Changing Unit. As part of The Public Schools of Northborough and Southborough Health Curriculum,
the fifth-grade students participate in the Growing & Changing program which is
designed to educate students about adolescent development. The lessons in this unit will
cover the normal physical, social, and emotional changes the body undergoes during
puberty. The program will include accurate and factual information, presented in
objective and reassuring terms. Specific topics to be covered include feeling positive
about growing up, the anatomy of the male and female reproductive systems, puberty,
menstruation, and personal hygiene. A question and answer period will be included.

Due to overlapping events, we changed the time to 11:30 AM. If you opted your child out, we will have an alternative activity for them.
