The Polar Express
Students continue to learn new concepts in math, science, and literacy. Students social emotional growth is also an important part of the learning journey. Our SEL curriculum, Second Step, continues to be a part of morning meetings and community circles.
Navigating peer conflict is a natural part of growing up, and at school we support students as they learn how to handle challenges in the classroom, on the bus, and at recess. You can help at home by encouraging your child to use simple strategies like taking a deep breath, using respectful words to express how they feel (“I didn’t like that”), listening to others, and asking an adult for help when needed. Remind your child that they can always connect with a trusted adult—at school or at home—if they need support or help solving a problem. Practicing problem-solving together—such as thinking of kind ways to respond or role-playing common situations—can also build confidence. It’s important to remember that children are still learning; mistakes are part of the process. With guidance, patience, and support from both school and home, our students are developing the important skills they need to build positive, respectful relationships.

Updates and Reminders:
  • Student Council has organized Neon Day on March 26th.
  • PTO Raffle is live, closes March 27
