Dear LSS Families,

At 1:30 this afternoon,  we conducted our scheduled ALICE safety drill at school, and I want to share that it went extremely well. Students and staff approached the drill with seriousness, focus, and a strong sense of responsibility.

We were fortunate to have members of the Northborough Police Department join us to assist with the process. They worked alongside me to help scan the building and ensure that our procedures were carried out safely and effectively. Their partnership is always appreciated and helps make these drills more meaningful for everyone involved.

I am very proud of our students and staff for how thoughtfully they participated. Practicing safety drills can feel uncomfortable, but they are an important part of helping everyone understand what to do in an emergency and how to keep one another safe.

Following the drill, teachers spoke with students in age-appropriate ways to reflect on the experience and answer any questions they may have had. Additionally, I circulated into classrooms to check in on students and staff.
