Informational Update - Safety Superhero Chats
Dear LSS Families,
Today, our school community gathered in the cafeteria for a 30-minute presentation and discussion on the importance of being a Safety Superhero both in school and in the community. Presentations were grouped two grades at a time: K and 1, 2 and 3, and 4 and 5. We were fortunate to be joined by our special guests, Detective Sullivan and Marshall, who shared important facts about school safety and healthy habits. You can view the presentation here: Safety Superhero Slides
During the session, we reminded students how important it is to listen carefully and follow directions from teachers and staff. Students were actively engaged—answering questions, sharing their own safety tips, and participating in turn-and-talk discussions with a partner.
In the weeks ahead, we will be conducting a school-wide safety drill with all students and staff. Families will be notified in advance so that you have an opportunity to preview and discuss the purpose of our drill with your child(ren).
