First Day of School with Pat the Polar Bear

The Polar Express

Congratulations to students, staff, and families for a successful and enthusiastic first week of school! On Thursday, students reviewed and practiced routines, procedures, and protocols. Each grade joined me for an LSS Expectation Assembly that focused on maintaining a respectful learning community and highlighted our Core Values.

Our Open House is on Tuesday, September 9. We begin the evening in the cafeteria at 5:45 PM with the Principal's Message. Classroom conversations and activities will begin at 6:00 PM. This is an early release day for students. Dismissal begins at 12:05 PM.

We know the first couple of days can be hard transitioning to school. We encourage your child to enter the morning recess area independently, and families practice a drop-and-go routine.
September 5th - LSS Spirit Day! Students should wear LSS spirit wear and/or blue and white to represent Polar Bear Pride.

Culture and Belonging

September is designated as National Hispanic Heritage Month, observed from September 15th to October 15th. This period recognizes the histories, cultures, and contributions of Americans with Hispanic, Latino, and Latin American roots. The date range is significant as it coincides with the independence days of several Latin American countries.
